This little girl went to Crufts.
It’s not easy taking on a rescue animal, and in Peta’s case, her new addition two and a half years ago was no exception..
.
After spending half her life in a multi-dog household, matted and covered in faeces, Isla arrived into our care shaking, nervous and refusing to walk. Heartbreakingly sad, bewildered and scared, Isla was petrified of everything. We don’t even think she had ever ventured outdoors.
.
.
A quiet but knowledgeable home was needed for this sensitive, broken little lady and we found the perfect match.
.
Time would hopefully help heal Isla’s traumatic early years, but for the first five days in her new home, Peta was unable to touch her. Slowly, Isla began to trust her new human family and has since been in to visit us here at the centre to show us exactly what this dynamic duo have been up to.
.
Isla has achieved so much. Still wary of strangers, she has already won four rosettes in obedience, and in March Peta entered Isla into the Crufts Good Citizen Bronze Award.
.
What an endearing brave little girl.
