Temporary changes to our adoption process due to Covid19

The health and safety of our staff, volunteers and members of the public is of utmost importance to us. Please advise us if you are considered clinically vulnerable and are currently still shielding. This is so we can discuss the safest options available in terms of how we proceed with the adoption of an animal. We are currently operating a, DEFRA approved, temporary adoption process due to Covid-19. This means we will be using a remote matching process to begin with.

Please note we are caring for a high number of animals pending legal proceedings so we are limited as to what can be offered for adoption at this time.

If you are interested in adopting an animal you have seen on our website, please complete the adoption form, or contact the centre by telephone, 0115 855 0222 or email(info@rspca-radcliffe.org.uk) to discuss an animal.

Due to the easing of Covid restrictions and the continued high submission of adoption forms we will now return to displaying all animals currently for adoption on our website.

Please only submit your adoption form for the specific animal you are interested in and please be aware that animals are often reserved very quickly so do keep checking the availability status.

Thank you for your continued support.

If you have already completed a form and you see an animal on the web site then please get in touch.

Please note that there is no general viewing of our animals at this time.

Please be aware that the availability of animals will be subject to change as animals become reserved and new ones become available.

We please ask you to be patient and supportive during this time. Our new measures have been introduced to protect and the health and safety of our staff and the general public.

Step 1

Complete the appropriate application form on the Dogs, Cats, Rabbits or Small Animals page.

Adoption prices are as follows:

Dog £165.00

Cat £100.00

Rabbit £35.00 / Bonded pair of rabbits £50.00

Guinea Pig £15.00

Any other small animal for a suitable donation.

Step 2

We will contact you via telephone if we think the animal you have expressed an interest in is a suitable match and is still available for adoption and the application process will be completed via phone and email. You may be asked to provide photos or video of your home where appropriate.

We will discuss as much information as we know about an animal available for adoption. This will include all our behavioural and veterinary observations.

If you wish to proceed, there will be some information to read and sign. This will be done electronically and secure payment taken over the phone for the adoption and essential animal care package.

Step 3

Owners will receive ongoing support by email/telephone from the animal centre following adoption. This may include a post adoption home visit which will be carried out when current movement and other restrictions have been lifted.

Please ensure you have thought about the long-term commitments of owning an animal and can continue its care once you return to work and other activities post Covid-19.
