Smokey is a very timid, nervous and shy boy who will need an owner with some experience and understanding. He will need to be allowed to settle at his own pace. If he is rushed or approached too quickly, he may hiss, but this is purely out of fear and not aggression.
Smokey would benefit from a quiet home with patient owners who can give him the time and space he needs to build confidence. Providing plenty of hiding beds and safe spaces will really help him feel secure while he adjusts.
Once Smokey is fully settled and feeling comfortable, if he shows an interest in going outside, this could be introduced slowly and safely.
With time, patience and understanding, Smokey has the potential to grow in confidence and become a lovely companion.

All our animals are under a full rehabilitation programme involving behavioural assessments and monitoring. This helps us achieve the best possible match.
We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.
We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!
We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
