Pickle

  • JRT x Chihuahua
  • Male
  • 1 Year

Pickle came into our care from a multi-dog household. Due to a lack of early socialisation, Pickle is a very nervous boy who needs plenty of time and patience to feel secure. At first, he may try to avoid handling or even nip if he feels overwhelmed, but once he builds trust, he enjoys affection and will happily sit for fuss. He is wary of unfamiliar people and can be startled by loud noises, but with reassurance he begins to show his affectionate side.

Pickle had not experienced life on a lead before arriving at the centre and although he is improving with training, he still requires encouragement. He walks more confidently alongside another dog but is also capable of walking alone. He has been friendly with the dogs he has met, though he can be vocal when nervous.

We are looking for an experienced, quiet home with patient owners who are around for most of the day. Pickle will need continued training, socialisation and support with house-training. With time, consistency and understanding, Pickle has the potential to grow into a loyal and loving companion.

Why Rehome From RSPCA Radcliffe

All our animals are under a full rehabilitation programme involving behavioural assessments and monitoring. This helps us achieve the best possible match.

We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.

We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!

We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
