Pepper arrived as a stray, unfortunately, much of her previous history is unknown.
Initially, Pepper can be a little nervous around new people, but she settles fairly quickly and soon warms up once she feels comfortable. She is a lovely, affectionate girl who enjoys a fuss.
On arrival at the centre, Pepper was exceptionally lame due to a previously untreated cruciate ligament issue. Since coming into our care, she has been treated with pain relief and rest, alongside short, controlled walks to gradually rebuild her muscle strength and support her recovery.
Pepper will require a further four to six weeks of treatment and careful management. This treatment can be continued within a suitable home environment while she continues to recover, with the aim of helping her return to full mobility.
Pepper would benefit from a quiet and settled home with someone who is around for most of the day. Due to her current veterinary needs, she is looking for an owner who has some previous experience with dogs and is comfortable managing her ongoing care.
She would be best suited as the only pet in the home so that she can have the space, attention and support she needs.

All our animals are under a full rehabilitation programme involving behavioural assessments and monitoring. This helps us achieve the best possible match.
We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.
We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!
We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
