Nova is an extremely timid boy who will need an experienced owner to help him build confidence at his own pace. He is very nervous initially but does slowly come out of his shell over time. Nova is more comfortable with people he knows and requires calm, slow and gentle handling to feel secure. Once he begins to trust you, he enjoys being stroked and will quietly seek reassurance.
New people and unfamiliar situations can be overwhelming for Nova, as human contact and home life are still very new experiences for him. He will need a quiet, predictable home environment with patient owners who are happy to give him the time and space he needs to settle.
Nova is relaxed around food and prefers to graze rather than eat quickly. He loves his bed and enjoys playing with his toys once he feels comfortable. He is fine with other dogs; however, any companion dog must have good social skills, be calm in nature and willing to share.
As Nova has never lived in a home environment, he will require training in all areas. This includes house-training, lead walking, basic commands and general life skills. He is currently learning to walk on a lead, which is completely new to him.
Nova will need calm, patient and understanding owners who have plenty of time to dedicate to his ongoing training and behavioural needs. It is essential that his new owner understands his background and is committed to helping him continue to grow in confidence and develop the skills he needs to thrive.

We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!
