Little One

  • Chihuahua
  • Male
  • 2 Years

Little One is a very timid and nervous boy who has had limited socialisation in his previous home. He finds unfamiliar people and sudden movements particularly worrying and needs plenty of time and patience to build trust. Once he begins to feel comfortable, his personality starts to emerge, especially when he is out enjoying his walks.

When frightened or uncomfortable, Little One may attempt to snap and he does not like being picked up, so a calm and gentle approach is essential. Treats are a great way to build his confidence and help him form a bond.

Little One is looking for a quiet, adults-only home with an experienced and understanding owner who is around for most of the day. He cannot live with cats or children and must live with a calm, confident dog, as he gains a great deal of reassurance from other dogs and learns from their behaviour.

Previous experience with Chihuahuas would be beneficial, and his new owner will need to understand that settling and building trust may take considerable time. Little One will also need to wear a muzzle for veterinary visits.

Why Rehome From RSPCA Radcliffe

All our animals are under a full rehabilitation programme involving behavioural assessments and monitoring. This helps us achieve the best possible match.

We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.

We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!

We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
