Digger

  • Shih Tzu x Poodle
  • Male
  • 4 Years

Digger was rescued by RSPCA Inspectors from a home with multiple dogs and is now looking for a calm and patient home where he can continue his journey of learning to trust and grow in confidence.

Naturally shy and a little independent, Digger prefers not to interact with strangers and will need time and space to feel secure in new surroundings. Once he feels safe, he forms gentle bonds but it’s important he has the option to retreat to a quiet space when he needs it.

Digger enjoys his walks and likes to take things at his own pace. He prefers to sniff and explore his environment rather than say hello to other dogs or people and benefits from peaceful, low-pressure outings. He will need plenty of mental and physical stimulation, along with ongoing encouragement and patience, to help him continue to build confidence.

Digger must be rehomed with another friendly and confident dog, who can offer companionship and help guide him in his new home. He will also need someone at home most of the time to provide stability, reassurance and the freedom to settle at his own pace.

Why Rehome From RSPCA Radcliffe

All our animals are under a full rehabilitation programme involving behavioural assessments and monitoring. This helps us achieve the best possible match.

We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.

We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!

We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
