Clemmie

  • Poodle x Golden Retriever
  • Female
  • 6 Years

Clemmie is an extremely timid girl who will need an experienced owner to help her build confidence at her own pace. She is very nervous initially but does slowly come out of her shell over time. Clemmie is more comfortable with people she knows and requires calm, slow and gentle handling to feel secure. Once she begins to trust you, she enjoys being stroked and will quietly seek reassurance.

New people and unfamiliar situations can be overwhelming for Clemmie, as human contact and home life are still very new experiences for her. She will need a quiet, predictable home environment with patient owners who are happy to give her the time and space she needs to settle.

Clemmie is relaxed around food and prefers to graze rather than eat quickly. She loves her bed and enjoys playing with her toys once she feels comfortable. She is fine with other dogs; however, any companion dog must have good social skills, be calm in nature and willing to share.

As Clemmie has never lived in a home environment, she will require training in all areas. This includes house-training, lead walking, basic commands and general life skills. She is currently learning to walk on a lead, which is completely new to her.

Clemmie will need calm, patient and understanding owners who have plenty of time to dedicate to her ongoing training and behavioural needs. It is essential that her new owner understands her background and is committed to helping her continue to grow in confidence and develop the skills she needs to thrive.

Why Rehome From RSPCA Radcliffe

All our animals are under a full rehabilitation programme involving behavioural assessments and monitoring. This helps us achieve the best possible match.

We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.

We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!

We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
