Supporting Nottinghamshire

Boss

  • Lurcher
  • Male
  • 1 Year

Boss came into our care as a stray, so unfortunately we don’t know anything about his background and he may not have lived in a home environment before.

He can be quite timid with new people and in new situations, but once he feels safe and begins to trust you, he really comes out of his shell. He becomes lively, affectionate and will actively seek attention, often coming to sit next to you when he wants some fuss. Underneath his worries, he is generally a laid-back boy who enjoys company.

Boss will need experienced owners who understand nervous dogs and have the time to continue his training. When walked in quieter areas he does walk nicely on his collar and lead, however when taken off site into the village he becomes overwhelmed by traffic and shows fear behaviours. His confidence is growing with us, but this will need to be built up slowly and positively in his new home.

Boss would like someone at home most of the time initially while he settles. Any time left alone will need to be introduced very gradually to prevent frustration and anxiety.

Boss will need patient, understanding owners who are prepared to give him time to adjust and continue building his confidence. In the right home, with the right support, he has the potential to make a really lovely companion.

Why Rehome From RSPCA Radcliffe

All our animals are under a full rehabilitation programme involving behavioural assessments and monitoring. This helps us achieve the best possible match.

We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.

We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!

We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
