Matthew can be quite timid when meeting new people and experiencing new situations. Coming from a multi-cat household, he unfortunately missed out on early human interaction, which has left him feeling unsure at times.
When Matthew first arrived in our care, he found being around other cats very stressful. However, since moving to a quieter pod, he has settled well and is much happier. Because of this, Matthew would prefer to be the only cat in the home. If there is already a dog, he would need them to be calm and used to living with cats.
Once settled, Matthew begins to relax and shows his sweet nature. He has a laid-back personality and enjoys human company, especially gentle fuss around his head. He is still a little unsure about being stroked along his back and near his tail, so will need patience and understanding.
Matthew is looking for an experienced owner who will give him the time and space to build trust and confidence at his own pace, helping him flourish and experience the love and care he has sadly missed out on.

We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.
We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!
We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
