Teddy is a sensitive and timid boy who has had very little life experience. New people and unfamiliar situations can be frightening for him and he needs calm, gentle introductions to feel safe. With patience and reassurance, Teddy does begin to relax and show his softer side, but trust takes time.
Because he has never truly experienced normal home life, everyday things such as lead walking, household noises and close human contact are all new to him. He is currently learning to walk on a lead and is slowly building confidence, but he does not yet know any basic commands and has had no previous training.
Teddy has never been house trained, so his new owners will need time, consistency and access to a secure garden to help him learn. He will need a steady routine to help him understand what is expected of him.
He is comfortable around other calm and sociable dogs and he could live with a suitable companion who has good manners and is happy to share. A confident but gentle dog may help him continue to grow in confidence.
Teddy is looking for experienced, patient owners who understand nervous dogs and are willing to go at his pace. He will need ongoing socialisation, positive reinforcement training and a quiet home environment where he can feel secure.
With understanding and dedication, Teddy has every chance to blossom into a loyal and loving companion.

We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.
We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!
We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
