Supporting Nottinghamshire

Max

  • Domestic Short-haired
  • Male
  • 8 Months

Max is an extremely timid, sensitive little boy who finds human interaction quite overwhelming at the moment.

Max will need a very quiet, low-pressure home with an experienced owner who understands nervous cats and is happy to let him exist alongside them with minimal expectations. He prefers to observe from a safe distance and feels most comfortable when he has cosy, covered beds and hiding places where he can fully relax.

Max can tolerate gentle interaction for short periods and will take treats carefully, but he becomes easily overwhelmed and may hiss or swipe if he feels unsure. These behaviours are defensive rather than aggressive.

He is not a playful or outgoing young man at this stage and may never actively seek fuss or attention. Any interaction will need to be entirely on his terms, and his new owner must be prepared for the possibility that Max will remain a very independent cat who enjoys companionship from afar rather than hands-on affection.

Max will need owners who are patient, understanding, and able to meet him in his pod before rehoming, so they can fully appreciate his nature and needs.

Why Rehome From RSPCA Radcliffe

All our animals are under a full rehabilitation programme involving behavioural assessments and monitoring. This helps us achieve the best possible match.

We have experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand that spend time with each animal and are therefore able to give you an insight into their temperament and suitability to your lifestyle.

We have a purpose-built area that simulates a home garden environment and provides adoptees with the opportunity meet and greet their potential pet on a one-to-one basis. Similarly over in the cattery we have an adoption room where you can play and give your potential new cat or kitten lots of fuss!

We recommend that you come back and visit your new pet as much as you can to ensure it is the right one for you.
