A total of 110 miles, over 7 days and it all began on Monday 23rd September 2019.
Day 1 Chipping Campden to Wood Stanway.
Monday, Jon-Luke and Daniel completed their first stretch, starting at Chipping Campden, finishing at Wood Stanway. With the weather taking a turn for the worst, we wished them lots of dry spells. The rain held off in the morning but by the afternoon the heavens opened. Luckily the boys stayed in a B&B, before camping commenced.
Day 2 Wood Stanway to Cleeve Hill via Hailes Abbey.
Nothing would dampen Jon-Luke and Daniel’s spirit to raise money for our animals here at the Centre. After a hearty breakfast our boys ventured out in torrential rain from Wood Stanway, via Hailes Abbey for a hot drink. With a drier afternoon, they arrived at Cleeve Hill in good time. They enjoyed their day and were looking forward to what challenges Wednesday would bring.
Day 3 Cleeve Hill to Birdlip.
Glamping overnight and 20 miles ahead of them. Jon-Luke and Daniel set off at 7am and no time for breakfast. A beautiful clear day, they finished an hour & a half earlier than expected and were now halfway through their adventure. Their rucksacks are massive, Jon-Luke’s rucksack weighed a third of his body weight.
Day 4, 5, 6 & 7 Birdlip to Bath
All went without a hitch, including improved weather and not too many blisters.
Successfully walking the entire Cotswold Way from Chipping Campden to Bath and raising a magnificent £415.00 for our animals here at the centre. What an amazing achievement and a huge thank you to Jon-Luke and Daniel, and of course to everyone who supported them during their adventure.
Although the guys have completed their challenge you can still support them by donating on their JustGiving page
